Thanksgiving is one of our favorite times of year at our practice. Of course we love to spend time with family and friends and fill our bellies with turkey and apple pie, but we find that it gives us a moment to reflect and give thanks for all that we have. That includes you, our dear patients. What are we thankful for?

My biggest fear all of my life has been going to the dentist. As a child I even ran away from home (albeit for an hour) to avoid a dentist appointment. I had my first visit to this dentist office a few months back and it was the first time I didn’t have a negative experience. On the contrary I feel really good having received compliments on my teeth while there (first time that ever happened). From the receptionist to the hygienist to the dentist, all lovely people. Billing and scheduling also so smoothly operated. Not dreading my next visit.

The Caring Dental of Spotswood is a really wonderful facility. The name is very fitting because I always feel well cared for. The staff are very polite, accommodating, and understanding to your personal situation. Dr. Sorkin is an excellent dentist and is great at the work that he does. He is gentle, funny, and knowledgeable, and I can tell that he truly has my best interest in mind. I would highly recommend this place for anyone’s dental needs!

Being very nervous about seeing a dentist and having not so great experiences in the past I was hesitant about making an appointment.Andrew and Dr. Sorkin were very understanding and helpful, they answered all questions I had about my visit and quickly came up with a plan that would fix my issues in a timely manner. I’m a nervous wreck when it comes to going to the dentist, so after my dentist of 20 years retired, I kinda retired from going to the dentist. After 2+ years I manned up and decided to try Caring Dental of Spotswood, my hygienist was beyond patient with me, and was very informative throughout the process which kind of calmed my nerves, which was greatly appreciated. The dentist I saw was Dr. Leizer, she was very nice, and took the time to talk to me about a possible implant, without trying to pressure me. last but not least, Ariela, who set up my appointment, and listened to me ramble about my fear and why I haven’t been to the dentist in over two years, also got me information regarding my dental insurance, extremely helpful! And they have classic rock playing throughout the office which I loved, overall I give them a 10 out of 10!

I just moved to the area and was having horrible tooth pain. Not only did they get me in for an appointment just a few hours later on that same day, but they were so kind and explained everything so I could understand. A few days later came in for that problem tooth to be extracted, and man what a great experience. I know, how can a tooth extraction be a good experience? I'll tell you. Although they didn't know, I was extremely nervous. The dentist and the assistant were so amazing at making me comfortable, not only making sure I was numb, but having an everyday conversation with me rather than making me feel like just a patient in a chair. Their kindness and the dentist's gentleness will absolutely bring me back. I am happy to say although my first visit wasn't for happy reasons, I have found my dentist. Highly recommend.

I submitted my appointment request online and within 5 minutes I received a call from Gail. She was so kind and helpful in answering my questions. When I did arrive for my appointment I was greeted by Gail and her demeanor is as warm in person as it was on the phone. My experience with everyone I met was awesome and I highly recommend Dr. Sorting and his team!!

Doctor Sorkin is amazing and cares for his patients.
He saved my teeth where other dentists routinely suggested unnecessary extensive dental work.
His work is painless and no other dentist comes close to the technology he uses in the East Brunswick area. The staff is welcoming and wonderful.

Going to Dr. Sorkin is like going to your best friend for dental care. It is that comforting. The receptionist welcomes you as if you are family. Diane, the hygienist is truly exceptional. Dr. Sorkin finishes the examination with such kindness and caring. I highly recommend Dr. Sorkin.

Today I had my 1st appointment at Caring Dental of Spotswood. the Office Staff are very friendly. they put me in a office with a computer to fill out my paperwork on the computer unlike most offices when they give you a clipboard and a pen and have you sit in the waiting room filling out page after page. After that I spoke with a very nice Dental Assistant, she explained Everything to me clearly, took Xrays and photos of my mouth .No biting on Cardboard film . New equipment I have never seen before ,No discomfort at All. she took Amazing photos of every tooth. She made me feel totally comfortable. Dentist Dr.Sorkin came in and introduced himself . and I stood up and shook his hand , I think as a Man you should Always Stand when shaking another person's hand. a short while after the Dr.s Assistant was done taking photos and Xrays Dr.Sorkin looked at everyone of my teeth and went over each one and explained everything in detail. I had to tell him the music that was playing throughout the office was very good . the Entire Vibe was positive. I can't wait for my cleaning on Thursday . on a scale from 1 to 10 . this Office is off the charts at a high 17 . Highly recommend. and Thank You

I haven't been to the dentist in decades because of dentophobia (yes, that's a real thing) but my mouth has been okay thanks to good dental hygiene. With that said, recently one of my teeth that had gotten a filling as a teenager cracked--I'm told that's not uncommon. There was no pain but I was in fear that the whole tooth would fall out of my head or, at the very least, that silver filling would detach and wind up in my belly. So, I was forced to face my fears and find a dentist.

As with all decisions I make, I did a ton of research online. I also happen to work in healthcare so I talked to some of the industry people I know. All reviews and recommendations pointed toward one person: Dr. Matthew Sorkin. He's one of the top dentists in New Jersey, apparently, but more important to me were all the glowing reviews using words like "compassionate", "gentle" and "pain-free". I'm a big dude with a high pain threshold but when it comes to the mouth, I'm a big baby..so knowing that all dentists enjoy inflicting pain, I just wanted someone who was 'less of a sadist' than most dentists.

Turns out Dr. Sorkin was not sadistic at all. He is a legitimately kind and gentle guy. He explains everything he's about to do before he does it, then when he carries out his actions he does so as gently as possible, and he takes pauses here and there to ask how you are doing. When he talks, he is soft-spoken--sometimes too soft spoken to the point where I have to ask him to repeat himself which ain't easy when you have fingers and/or dental instruments in your mouth. Point is, he's a very calming presence and a super-competent physician who is well-deserving of all the great reviews, word-of-mouth and awards. Deep down inside I feel like darkness dwells within his heart and at any moment he's about to poke me just for laughs, LOL. But seriously...I see now that any fears I had of dentists getting their kicks watching patients writhe in pain were just in my head--at least when it comes to Dr. Sorkin. There is (surprisingly) such a thing as a dentist who takes his time, is careful and pain-free and concerned more with your well-being than his next yacht payment. If you want someone who is unrushed, meticulous, compassionate, pain-free and best of all a dental wonk who knows his profession inside-out and backwards, then Dr. Sorkin is your guy.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention the other facility staff who are just as important to the overall experience. Gail, the Office Manager is super-sweet and accommodating; she went above and beyond in helping me schedule, reschedule and in dealing with my insurance. Chioma at the Front Desk is a sweetheart who is beyond helpful and a great person. The Dental Assistants Andrew and Satinder are great and thankfully, working for Dr. Sorkin has erased any sadistic tendencies that drove them to dentistry in the first place. No, seriously, Andrew was there at my first visit and Satinder at my second and they are both just as accommodating, patient and gentle as Dr. Sorkin. The whole team at the office is great. I have a few more visits scheduled and I expect more great service but if they should happen to throw a net over me next time and take turns jabbing me with periodontal probes, I will definitely update this review. I know they are just itching to hear me scream! I'm kidding, of course. Dentists and office staff are not what they were in the last century. Much nicer these days. And let me talk about the technology for a minute...

Wow, the tools of the trade were perhaps the biggest surprise. There were no hammers, chisels or 'dental pelicans' to be seen. These days they have pain-free drilling, high-tech electronics like mouth cams, less invasive x-rays...not only does dentistry in general have lots of newfangled tech to make things easier for doctor and patient, but Dr. Sorkin's office has every doodad you can hope for. All high-tech instruments.

Okay, enough ranting. Call. Schedule. Go. Thank me later.
